Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 1st September 2023
Welcome to the Perinatal Sanctuary. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations governing your use of our website and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to abide by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website and services, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
2. Professional Information
Your therapist is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and adheres to the codes of ethics and conduct of these regulatory bodies. Copies of these codes are available online, providing information about procedures for making a complaint.
3. Appointments & Payment
Therapy is most effective with a commitment to regular sessions. Typically meeting weekly, we may adjust frequency based on your needs. The initial contract is up to six sessions, with evaluation to determine extension. Sessions are usually in pre-agreed blocks and last 45-50 minutes unless otherwise agreed. Payment is due on the day by cash, cheque, or bank transfer unless covered by private medical insurance. If using insurance, please ensure coverage for the full session fee.
4. Cancellation Policy
With 48 hours’ notice, no fee is charged. Cancellations made the day before incur a 50% charge, and same-day cancellations are charged at the full rate. Planned therapist absences are communicated with at least 48 hours’ notice.
5. Confidentiality
Your discussions are confidential, shared only with your permission or in serious safety concerns. Clinical supervision, a standard practice, is bound by confidentiality guidelines. Discussions are anonymised and respectful. We may discuss with you the option of writing to other professionals, like your GP, to update them on your treatment.
6. Ethical and Collaborative Practice
As clinical psychologists, we employ various therapeutic models tailored to your needs. Treatment goals are collaboratively set, regularly reviewed, and modified as necessary. Progress is assessed using standard measures and individualised indicators.
7. Communication and Support
We aim to respond promptly, but as full-time therapists, immediate replies may not be possible. Regular support between sessions is not provided. In emergencies, please contact appropriate services, as we do not offer a crisis intervention service.
8. Ending Therapy
Ending therapy is a planned and expected process. Final sessions focus on preparation and developing a ‘staying well’ plan. We collaboratively decide on the right time to end therapy. If onward referral is needed, we facilitate this transition, ensuring your continued well-being.
9. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Use our services at your own risk.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the UK laws. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the UK.
12. Contact Us
